DEAR ERIC: All Hansen Pole Buildings are available in a plethora of colors. Plus, you can mix and match – roofing, siding and trims need not be same color choice!
DEAR POLE BARN GURU: If I chose to do so is it less expensive to have Hansen include the interior framing in the kit rather than locally sourcing the materials from a lumber yard? Note, this will be delivered and built in Northern Arizona and when I am able to pull the trigger although I intend on doing as much of the work as I can get away with, I will have to hire a GC to satisfy the USDA construction loan requirements. And this would likely include your in-house calculations, etc., for the floorplan I intend on using. TROTTER
DEAR TROTTER: Lumber for Hansen Pole Buildings’ fully engineered, custom designed, post-frame barndominiums is delivered from our wholesale distribution facility in Northeast South Dakota. As we are specialists at designing your building’s structural portions and we prefabricate wood trusses, we have chosen to utilize only high strength machine stress rated (msr) lumber. This lumber has highly limited defects and is generally two or more times stronger than material from your local lumber dealer or big box store. This allows us to deliver to you a far stronger building than you would receive from other choices of providers. Even though we purchase rail car quantities, there is a premium for wood of this quality. Our experience with providing interior framing materials is at least a portion tend to ‘walk’ before it comes time to utilize them. They are stored improperly, used for other purposes or just flat out pilfered. Non-structural interior framing certainly does not require this degree of strength our lumber would provide. Once all factors are carefully analyzed sourcing these materials locally generally ends up being a slightly better economic solution.
DEAR POLE BARN GURU: Do you all deliver to Missouri? If so, I’m looking for a 4 bed and at least 2 bath plan. I don’t want to exceed 250k turn key. We have land but still need well and septic. Do you think this is realistic? BAYLEE in FARMINGTON

Fully engineered post frame homes and barndominiums, modest tastes, DIY, budget roughly $75-85 per sft for conditioned spaces, $35 for all others. Does not include land, site prep, utilities, permits. Seemingly your well and septic will be what makes or breaks your budget.
