Are you a dealer or broker?
Neither. Dealers and brokers purchase buildings at wholesale from building manufacturers and resell or “retail” them. Dealers buy exclusively from one manufacturer, while brokers buy from many. These dealers or brokers are middlemen for a manufacturer’s product. They give a general design to the manufacturer who determines how to engineer the building. The building is actually the manufacturer’s product, not the dealer or broker’s.
Hansen Pole Buildings operates completely differently from any other pole building kit provider. When you request a building, we engineer it ourselves, producing the designs and drawings which specify how the building goes together. This is why we are able to supply our customers with drawings so quickly, because we do them in-house. Dealers and brokers can’t do this. They have to wait for the manufacturer. We produce the orders to our suppliers to specify the components which are to be delivered to you. In a nutshell, the buildings we sell are ours. This very same manufacturing approach is used by many of the largest companies in America.

Can I buy your building through a dealer?
We do not have authorized dealers. With the exception of through your local DirectBuy store, where we offer manufacturer direct pricing, we sell our buildings at one price to the public or to builders.

Who constructs Hansen Pole Buildings?
We are not contractors in any state. It is up to you to either construct the building yourself (which is what most people do), or to hire a contractor to do the work.
Our pole buildings are designed with the “weekend warrior” in mind. The average person should not have difficulty constructing our kit, even as a complete novice. We do not suggest you undertake a particularly large building (over 40 feet in width or 16 foot or greater eave height) or one with an unusual configuration,
as your first pole building project.
To ease your pre-construction anxiety, we provide two-foot by three-foot, five or more page plans drawn specifically for your building. We also furnish a detailed material list and our state-of-the-art illustrated construction manual.
For quick construction, our building kits usually use pre-fabricated roof trusses, including the endwalls (no rafters to cut). Our packages are designed for modular assembly and, other than the nails for joist hangers and framing (and obviously – concrete), include all the components needed for the complete assembly of your building. Other than at openings and the top of the endwalls, the siding and roof steel are pre-cut to the exact length.
Rarely is “lack of experience” mentioned, as most people who consider a pole building kit are specifically seeking a building they can construct themselves. This is because you can use your own efforts, doing some or all of the work yourself, and save a bushel basket of money!
