Helpful Hints in choosing doors

You may choose more than one door type for your building and place them on either the sidewalls or gable endwalls. Doors wider than 12' are usually most cost effective if placed on gable endwalls (peaked ends).
Sliding - great for agricultural (farm shops, horse barns & arenas)
Overhead – seals out wind, dust and small animals; can put openers on them; can be insulated; usually not much more in cost than sliding doors

C Building site is open to the wind in one or more directions, for 1/4 mile, with only scattered obstructions generally less than 30 feet tall in the "open" direction. This would include building sites in flat open country, grasslands and ocean exposed shorelines in hurricane-prone regions.

D Note: Very few people actually have D exposure! Exposure D is the most severe exposure in areas with terrain which is flat and unobstructed facing large bodies of water over 1 miles or more in width. Example: shorelines of oceans or the Great Lakes
