SCHEDULING AND SHIPPING

Can I pick up a building with my own truck?

In most instances, yes, however there will be no cost savings and in some cases it will prove more expensive. Usually this question is asked because customers believe they can save money this way. Because we have negotiated with our suppliers, the majority of materials are delivered direct to your site on “route” trucks. We are utilizing unfilled truck space to get delivery made to you at little or no cost. To have to send all your materials to one consolidation point for you to pick up usually would entail trucks having to go out of their way. Further, the destination location now has to offload and reload materials they would normally not handle. These services are not free.

How is it possible for you to ship buildings to my location for virtually the same price as anywhere else in the country?

Because we ship to any given location from distribution locations relatively close to you, the difference in price for the same building is usually a result of differences in building code requirements: changes in snow, wind or seismic loads. In most cases some or all of your materials travel less than 100 miles to get to you. There are more remote areas, primarily in the Western United States or where the quality of materials we specify is not locally available, where we do charge extra for delivery..
